Hydraulic Gradient:

\(i = \dfrac{dh}{dl} \quad \text{or} \quad \dfrac{\partial h}{\partial s}\)

Darcy's Law:

\(q = k \dfrac{dh}{dl} A = kiA\)

\(q = CD * A\)

\(CD = \dfrac{KA}{L}\)

\(v_d = ki\)

\(v_s = \dfrac{v_d}{n_e}\)

Flow parallel to stratification:

\(k_{eq} = \dfrac{\sum_{i=1}^{n} k_i H_i}{\sum_{i=1}^{n} H_i}\)

Flow perpendicular to stratification:

\(k_{eq} = \dfrac{\sum_{i=1}^{n} H_i}{\sum_{i=1}^{n} \dfrac{H_i}{k_i}}\)
